What is neuromuscular therapy (NMT)?

Neuromuscular therapy is a specialized form of manual therapy that focuses on treating the root causes of pain and dysfunction in the muscles, soft tissues, and nervous system. It’s often used for people dealing with chronic pain, postural imbalances, or injuries that don’t fully resolve with general massage or exercise.

How does NMT work?

Targeting Trigger Points

  • Trigger points are hyper-irritable spots in muscle fibers that can cause referred pain (pain felt in another area).
  • NMT uses precise pressure techniques to release these points, restoring normal blood flow and reducing pain signals.

Correcting Muscle Imbalances

  • Postural issues, repetitive stress, or injuries can cause some muscles to become overly tight while others weaken.
  • NMT treatments assess and apply pressure or stretching to restore balance, helping joints move properly again.

Improving Blood and Nerve Flow

  • Chronic tension compresses nerves and blood vessels.
  • NMT relieves this compression, improving circulation and reducing nerve entrapment symptoms (tingling, numbness, or radiating pain).

Re-Educating the Nervous System

  • Muscles often stay tight due to neurological patterns created after injury or stress.
  • By applying sustained, controlled pressure, NMT helps “reset” communication between the nervous system and muscles, teaching them to relax.

Improving Range of Motion

  • Releasing adhesions and tension in fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles) makes the body more flexible.
  • This improves posture, reduces compensatory movement patterns, and lowers the chance of reinjury.

Discover What's Possible

Neuromuscular Therapy goes beyond surface-level relief to target the root of pain and dysfunction. By releasing trigger points, easing muscle tension, and improving circulation, NMT restores balance to the body. It relieves pressure on nerves, reduces chronic pain, and helps correct postural imbalances that lead to long-term issues. This therapy not only increases flexibility and range of motion but also re-educates the nervous system for healthier, more efficient movement patterns. Whether you’
